glide path (plural glide paths)

  1. the path of an aircraft as it lands under low power; especially, such a path advised to a pilot by radar assistance from the ground
  2. (economics, by extension) the pattern of systematic withdrawal of money from a retirement portfolio
  3. (figuratively, by extension) a course that leads smoothly to a particular outcome
