White Hmong[edit]
Etymology[edit]
From Proto-Hmong-Mien *hnɔn (“grain head, bag”); possibly related to Old Chinese 囊 (OC *naːŋ, “sack, bag”), which, if related, borrowed only the derived "bag" sense from Hmong-Mien rather than the "head of grain" sense.[1]
Pronunciation[edit]
Noun[edit]
hnab (classifier: lub)
