[edit]From jmj (“being in”) + -w (plural suffix) + jꜣwt (plural of jꜣt (“mound”)) + .sn (third-person plural suffix pronoun), literally “those in their mounds”. Some variants leave off .sn for a meaning of “those in the mounds”.
