German Low German[edit]

Etymology[edit]

From Old Saxon latōst.

Pronunciation[edit]

Adjective[edit]

lättst (no comparative, no superlative)

  1. superlative degree of laat
  2. latest, most recent, newest
  3. last
  4. final, ultimate

Usage notes[edit]

The spelling letzt is often found as being the same as Standard German letzter (which is itself of Low German origin). The spelling lättst better represents the superlative form of laat, inflected in a similar way as gröttst from groot.
