English

Etymology

leg +‎ press

Noun

leg press (plural leg presses)

  1. (weightlifting) An exercise performed by using the legs to press weight away from one's body, while the body remains stationary.
    • 2010, Adam Garett, "Fried Hams", Reps! 17:23
The same logic applies to leg presses; the more you lower the sled, the harder your hams have to work, as long as you're controlling the weight.
