[edit]- Some taxonomists consider this to be a family in its own right, the Leuciscidae, in which case leuciscid would be used instead of both the adjective and noun. Likewise, other taxonomists consider it to be a tribe, Leuciscini, within the subfamily Cyprininae, meaning leuciscin would be used instead.
