- Mù is rather inoffensive (a completely inoffensive synonym would be khiếm thị (“visually impaired”)). Đui is offensive. Chột (“one-eyed”), điếc (“deaf”), câm (“mute”) are all offensive, and alternatives such as khiếm thính (“hearing-impaired”) are preferable.
