Etymology[edit]
From Malay memaafkan, from Classical Malay memaafkan, mema'afkan. Equivalent to maaf + meng- -kan.

memaafkan (passive dimaafkan, kumaafkan, kaumaafkan, benefactive maafkan, imperative maafkanlah)
- (transitive) forgive mistakes et cetera don't assume wrong etc. anymore
- Ia telah memaafkan kesalahanku.
- He has forgiven my mistakes.
- (transitive) condone
