Etymology

From circumfix form (deprecated template usage) meng- +‎ diam +‎ -kan, constructed from prefix and suffix meng- +‎ diam +‎ -kan. Prefix meng- before initials of /d/ and /t/ will cause fusion with transformation of meng- into men- and sometimes elision of initial /t/.
