metroscope (plural metroscopes)

  1. (medicine, historical) A modification of the stethoscope, for directly auscultating the uterine souffles (not the dessert) during pregnancy. One part is inserted into the vagina, and the other into the ear.
  2. Any of various other measuring devices, such as for thickness.
