Etymology
From French narghilé, from Turkish nargile, from Persian نارگیله (nārgileh) from نارگیل (nārgil, “coconut”), which used to be used to construct the bowl, likely ultimately from Sanskrit नारिकेल (nārikela, “coconut”),[1] from a Dravidian language.
