olla olevinaan

  1. To feign, fake, pretend
    Oppilas oli olevinaan sairas koepäivänään.
    The student faked sickness on the day of his exam.
  2. To think or believe to be something.
    Hän on olevinaan hyvinpukeutuva, mutta minusta hänellä on huono maku.
    She thinks to be well-dressed, but I think she's got a bad taste.
