  • American pancakes are more akin to thick, leavened plättar (though still usually called "amerikanska pannkakor" in Swedish).
  • Often topped with cream or ice cream and/or jam.
  • Sometimes had as a kind of dessert after pea soup (ärtsoppa), traditionally on a Thursday.
