From the (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Byzantine Greek φαγ- (phag-), perfective stem of ἔφαγον (éphagon, I ate; I devoured), singular first-person aorist active indicative form (by suppletion) of ἐσθίω (esthíō, I eat; I devour).
