quasimode (plural quasimodes)

  1. (computing, graphical user interface) A mode that remains activated only through some constant action on the part of the user, such as holding down a certain key on the keyboard.
  2. (physics) A linear combination of modes of the universe that corresponds to a cavity resonance.
