Spanish

Noun

reparto m (plural repartos)

  1. allocation
  2. delivery (of something)
    • coche de reparto - delivery van
  3. cast (group of actors performing together)

Usage notes

While reparto and elenco are near-synonyms, there is a distinction in connotation. Reparto has more of an emphasis of the cast's roles they play. It almost combines the concepts of the actors and the characters. With elenco, it's more of a strict emphasis on the whole group of actors without factoring in their roles at all. So like at a red carpet event, you'd use elenco, whereas when listing off the cast and crew, you'd use reparto for the cast.
