rhabdo- +‎ -mancy, first attested in 1646. From Latin rhabdomantīa, from Ancient Greek ῥαβδομαντεία ‎(rhabdomanteía), from ῥάβδος ‎(rhábdos, rod) + μαντεία ‎(manteía, divination).
