  1. A scissor-tailed flycatcher or Texas bird of paradise (Tyrannus forficatus).
  2. A dragonfly of the genus Microgomphus.
  3. Any of various kinds of fish with forked tails, as the bluefin driftfish (Psenes pellucidus) or a devilfish (genus Assessor)
