From Late Latin syntaxis (“arrangement of words”), from Ancient Greek σύνταξις (súntaxis, “a putting together in order, arranging”), from σύν (sún, “with”) + τάξις (táxis, “arranging, arrangement”), from τάσσω (tássō, “I arrange”).
