From sparge +‎ -er or equivalent. Compare French asperger (to sprinkle), Latin aspergere, spargere.

sparger (plural spargers)

  1. A vessel with a perforated cover for sprinkling a liquid.
  2. (chemistry) A device for sparging, or introducing bubbles.
