Etymology

From either or both of the synonymous (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Ancient Greek nouns στασιάρχης (stasiárkhēs) and/or στασίαρχος (stasíarkhos, chief of a band”; “leader in sedition), from στάσις (stásis, part”, “band”; “sedition) + either -άρχης (-árkhēs, -ruler) or ἀρχός (arkhós, leader).
