Dutch[edit]
Etymology[edit]
From twaalf (“twelve”) + draad (“wire”) + -ig (“adjectival suffix”) + paradijs (“paradise”) + hop (“hoopoe”) - but note that the hoopoe (Upupa epops) is only very distantly related to this bird, so taxonomically this is something of a misnomer.
