utility monster (plural utility monsters)

  1. (philosophy) A hypothetical sentient being that derives much more hedonic pleasure from resources than ordinary beings do; in some critiques of utilitarianism, such a being would demand an extremely hedonistic lifestyle at the expense of everyone else, due to its greater capacity to feel pleasure.
