[edit]Inherited from Prakrit 𑀲𑀯𑁆𑀯 (savva), from Sanskrit सर्व (sarva, “all”), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *sárwas (“whole, all, entire”), from Proto-Indo-European *solh₂-wós, from *solh₂- (“whole”) + *-wós. Doublet of হর (hor) and হারুত (harut). Cognate with Assamese সব (xobo), Odia ସବୋ (sabo), Bihari सभ (sabh), Hindi सब (sab), Nepali सब (sab), Gujarati સહુ (sahu), Punjabi ਸਭ (sabh), Sindhi سَڀُ (sabhu), and distantly, Ancient Greek ὅλος (hólos) (whence English holo-) and Latin salvus (whence English safe).
