Etymology[edit]

From Pali līlā (grace; charm; etc), from Sanskrit लीला (līlā, idem); perhaps via Old Khmer līlā (to move in a graceful or elegant manner). Cognate with Lao ລີລາ (lī lā), Modern Khmer លីលា (liiliə).
