Sino-Korean word from 木曜日, from 木曜 (Jupiter) + (day), from Latin dies Jovis (day of Jupiter), through Indian astrology in the fifth century as बॄहस्पतिवार (bṝhaspativāra, of the planet Jupiter) into Buddhist astrology in the eighth century as 木曜日.
