- I'd say keep and add other teams, at least the major ones: Corinthians, Palmeiras, Santos, Flamengo, etc. I don't think WT:BRAND applies to them but, if anything, I believe many would pass rules on the likes of WT:BRAND since they are bound to be used in a way "independent of any parties with economic interest in the brand", in a way that "must not identify any such parties", etc., etc.
- Some of those have derived senses as synonyms/nicknames that could merit inclusion too: Mengão, Timão. And derived terms for fans of the teams: são paulino (fan of São Paulo), corinthiano (fan of Corinthians), palmeirense. And also nicknames: porco, I don't remember others. - Delete: Most cities have a soccer club primarily referred to by the name of the city. Except in cases where two city's clubs are facing one another, the definition is patently obvious. Purplebackpack89 05:15, 7 December 2015 (UTC)
- Delete very much per Talk:UCLA. Virtually every sports team from every city (and in some cases from a state or country) is referred to from time to time by their geographic designation rather than a formal team name.
