Glyph origin[edit]
Li Shoukui (2015) notes that 侎 may potentially be a corruption of 屎 that later adapted an etymologically unrelated reading and meaning, on the basis that Shuowen Jiezi writes that the origin of 侎 is unknown, that 尸 and 人 were occasionally used interchangeably in oracle bone script writing, and that given 尿 was often corrupted as ⿰亻水 in ancient writing, one cannot rule out that 侎 doesn't follow the same potential origin.[1]
