Usage notes[edit]

This term is generally used by Protestants for ordained pastors. It is also used to refer to priests in Anglican churches. Pastors who are not ordained are often known as 傳道人传道人 (chuándàorén) or 傳道传道 (chuándào).

Priests in Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy are called 神父 (shénfù) or 司鐸司铎 (sīduó).
