Etymology

Probably from Proto-Hellenic *galawos, from Proto-Indo-European *ǵh₂lōws. Cognates include Old Church Slavonic зълъва (zŭlŭva) (Russian золовка (zolovka)), Latin glōs, Lua error in Module:parameters at line 290: Parameter "sc" should be a valid script code; the value "polytonic" is not valid. See WT:LOS. and Old Armenian տալ (tal).
