Etymology 1

Contraction of preposition σε with the accusative singular of neuter article το. Also, in speech, with the masculine τον when final ‑ν is dropped (see notes). From Ancient Greek εἰς (eis, to, in) + τό (, the).

Contraction of weak genitive personal pronoun σου with the accusative singular of neuter article το. From Ancient Greek σου (sou, of you) + τό (, the).
