Etymology[edit]
From آرپه (arpa, “barley”) + ـلق (-lık).
Noun[edit]
آرپهلق • (arpalık)
- field devoted to or favorable to the growth of barley
- granary, bin or barn for barley
- fief formerly bestowed on grandees and afterwards compensated for by a stipend from the government
