Instance noun, derived from the Form VIII verbal noun اِنْتِفَاض(intifāḍ, shaking, shaking off) +‎ ـَة(-a, instance noun suffix), from the verb اِنْتَفَضَ(intafaḍa, to shake, to be shaken off).
