From Mazanderani توسکا (tuskā), تسکا (teskā), توسا (tusā), تسا (tosā, alder). Apparently ultimately Mongolic, Mongolian хус (xus, birch), with the ending ـا () as in many Mongolic nouns auslauting in -аа (-aa); correspondingly, Persian قان (qân, birch) is from Turkic.
