- 609–632 CE, Qur'an, 8:17:
- فَلَمْ تَقْتُلُوهُمْ وَلٰكِنَّ ٱللّٰهَ قَتَلَهُمْ وَمَا رَمَيْتَ إِذْ رَمَيْتَ وَلٰكِنَّ ٱللّٰهَ رَمَى وَلِيُبْلِيَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْهُ بَلَاءً حَسَنًا إِنَّ ٱللّٰهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
- fa-lam taqtulūhum wa-lākinna llāha qatalahum wa-mā ramayta ʔiḏ ramayta wa-lākinna llāha ramā wa-li-yubliya l-muʔminīna minhu balāʔan ḥasanan ʔinna llāha samīʕun ʕalīmun
- And you did not kill them, but it was Allah who killed them. And you threw not, [O Muhammad], when you threw, but it was Allah who threw that He might test the believers with a good test. Indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing.
- a. 684, معن بن أوس [Maʿn Ibn Aws], فيا عجباً لمن ربيت طفلاً […]:
- أُعَلِّمُهُ ٱلرِّمَايَةَ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ / فَلَمَّا ٱشْتَدَّ سَاعِدُهُ رَمَانِي.
- ʔuʕallimu-hū r-rimāyata kulla yawmin / fa-lammā štadda sāʕidu-hū ramānī.
- I teach him shooting every day; and when his arm was steady he shot me.

- وَمَن يَكْسِبْ خَطِيئَةً أَوْ إِثْمًا ثُمَّ يَرْمِ بِهِ بَرِيئًا فَقَدِ ٱحْتَمَلَ بُهْتَانًا وَإِثْمًا مُبِينًا
- wa-man yaksib ḵaṭīʔatan ʔaw ʔiṯman ṯumma yarmi bihi barīʔan fa-qadi ḥtamala buhtānan wa-ʔiṯman mubīnan
- But whoever earns an offense or a sin and then blames it on an innocent has taken upon himself a slander and manifest sin.
- 609–632 CE, Qur'an, 24:4:
- وَٱلَّذِينَ يَرْمُونَ ٱلْمُحْصَنَاتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَأْتُوا بِأَرْبَعَةِ شُهَدَاءَ فَٱجْلِدُوهُمْ ثَمَانِينَ جَلْدَةً وَلَا تَقْبَلُوا لَهُمْ شَهَادَةً أَبَدًا وَأُولٰئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْفَاسِقُونَ
- wa-llaḏīna yarmūna l-muḥṣanāti ṯumma lam yaʔtū bi-ʔarbaʕati šuhadāʔa fa-jlidūhum ṯamānīna jaldatan wa-lā taqbalū lahum šahādatan ʔabadan wa-ʔulāʔika humu l-fāsiqūna
- And those who accuse chaste women and then do not produce four witnesses: lash them with eighty lashes and do not accept from them testimony ever after. And those are the defiantly disobedient.
