Inherited from Proto-Turkic *sekü (dais, platform); cognate with Azerbaijani səki, Bashkir һике (hike), Chuvash сак (sak), Hungarian szék, Kyrgyz секи (seki), Tatar сәке (säke) and Turkmen seki.
