        مَرَّ بِهِ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ قَدِ ٱنْقَطَعَتْ عُرْوَةُ جُوَالِقِهِ فَقَالَ أَغِثْنِي بِعِقَالٍ أَشُدُّ بِهِ عُرْوَةَ جُوَالِقِي لَا تَنْفِرُ الْإِبِلُ فَأَعْطَاهُ عِقَالًا يَشُدُّ بِهِ عُرْوَةَ جُوَالِقِهِ فَلَمَّا نَزَلُوا وَعُقِلَتِ الإِبِلُ إِلَّا بَعِيرًا وَاحِدًا فَقَالَ الَّذِي ٱسْتَأْجَرَهُ مَا شَأْنُ هَذَا الْبَعِيرِ لَمْ يُعْقَلْ مِنْ بَيْنِ الْإِبِلِ قَالَ لَيْسَ لَهُ عِقَالٌ.‏ قَالَ فَأَيْنَ عِقَالُهُ قَالَ مَرَّ بِي رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ قَدِ ٱنْقَطَعَتْ عُرْوَةَ جُوَالِقِهِ فَاسْتَغَاثَنِي فَقَالَ أَغِثْنِي بِعِقَالٍ أَشُدُّ بِهِ عُرْوَةَ جُوَالِقِي لَا تَنْفِرُ الإِبِلُ.‏ فَأَعْطَيْتُهُ عِقَالًا فَحَذَفَهُ بِعَصًا كَانَ فِيهَا أَجَلُهُ.

        marra bihī rajulun min banī hāšimin qadi nqaṭaʕat ʕurwatu juwāliqihī faqāla ʔaḡiṯnī biʕiqālin ʔašuddu bihī ʕurwata juwāliqī lā tanfiru l-ʔibilu faʔaʕṭāhu ʕiqālan yašuddu bihī ʕurwata juwāliqihī falammā nazalū waʕuqilati l-ʔibilu ʔillā baʕīran wāḥidan faqāla llaḏī staʔjarahū mā šaʔnu haḏā l-baʕīri lam yuʕqal min bayni l-ʔibili qāla laysa lahū ʕiqālun. qāla faʔayna ʕiqāluhu qāla marra bī rajulun min banī hāšimin qadi nqaṭaʕat ʕurwata juwāliqihī fastaḡāṯanī faqāla ʔaḡiṯnī biʕiqālin ʔašuddu bihī ʕurwata juwāliqī lā tanfiru l-ʔibilu. faʔaʕṭaytuhū ʕiqālan faḥaḏafahu biʕaṣan kāna fīhā ʔajaluhū.

        A man of the Banū Hāšim passed by, the band of his knapsack had ruptured and he “said help me with a hobble I will fasten with it my bag so the camels do not flee” and he gave him a hobble wherewith he fastens the band of the bag. When they halted all camels were hobbled but one and the one who hired him asked “what’s the matter with this camel, why it alone not hobbled from all the camels” and he said “there is no rope”. And he said “where is the rope?” He answered “A man of Banū Hāšim passed by me whose bag’s band was ruptured and he asked me for help and said ‘help me with the hobble, I fasten with it the band of the bag, so the camels do not flee.’ And I gave him a hobble.” And he struck him with a cane, which was his end.
