Etymology[edit]

From the root ك ء ب (k-ʔ-b). Cognate with Hebrew כָּאַב (ka'áv, to hurt, to pain, to ache), Aramaic כֵּאבָא/כֵּיבָא (kēḇā).

كَئِبَ (kaʔiba) I, non-past يَكْأَبُ‎ (yakʔabu)
