From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Ancient Greek γέεννα (géenna) with the addition of the "h" from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Hebrew גֵּיהִנֹּם (gêhinnōm), from גֵּיא הִנֹּם (gêʾ Hinnōm, “valley of Hinnom”). Compare Arabic جَهَنَّم (ǧahannam).
