[edit]Inherited from Apabhramsa उन्हाल (unhāla), उण्हाल (uṇhāla) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀇𑀓𑀸- (-ikā-), from Sanskrit उष्णकाल (uṣṇakāla). By surface analysis, उन्हाळा (unhāḷā) + -ई (-ī, feminine suffix).

[edit]Inherited from Prakrit *उण्हआलिय (uṇhaāliya), from Sanskrit *उष्णकालिक (uṣṇakālika, “relating to summer”). By surface analysis, उन्हाळा (unhāḷā) + -ई (-ī, relational suffix).
