Etymology[edit]

Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀧𑀓𑁆𑀔 (pakkha), from Sanskrit पक्ष (pakṣá). Doublet of पाँख (pā̃kh) and पंखा (paṅkhā).[1]

Doublet of पक्ष (pakṣa). Compare Gujarati પાંખ (pā̃kh), Hindustani پَنکھ‎ / पंख (paṅkh), Punjabi ਪੰਖ (paṅkh) / پَنکھ(pankh), Nepali प्वाँख (pwā̃kh), Oriya ପଙ୍ଖା (pôṅkha).[1]
