Etymology

From ; ultimately from Sanskrit द्रव्य (dravya, “object; substance; thing; etc”). Cognate with Modern Khmer ទ្រព្យ (trŏəp); Lao ຊັບ (sap).

The first sense was probably first used on 11 November 1923, when the first book of the Civil and Commercial Code of Thailand was promulgated.
