1. (conjunctive)
   1. indicates a reason or cause; because

      Synonyms: から (kara), ので (node)

      あなたはよく働(はたら)くもの、きっとうまくいくでしょう。

      Anata wa yoku hataraku mono, kitto umaku iku deshō.

      You work so hard, so everything should be fine.

2. (final)
   1. (with ね (ne) or な (na)) used to indicate a reason with some amount of wonder or admiration; (it's) because

      あなたは学(がっ)校(こう)の成(せい)績(せき)がいいものね。

      Anata wa gakkō no seiseki ga ii mono ne.

      It's because you get such good grades at school.

   2. (women's speech) used to assert something, often implying dissatisfaction or downheartedness

      だって寒(さむ)いんだもん。 ― Datte samui n da mon. ― After all, it's cold out.

      羨(うらや)ましくなんかないもん！　ふん！

      Urayamashiku nanka nai mon! Fun!

      I'm not jealous at all! Hmph!
