[edit]Regular shift from Classical Japanese ク活用 (ku-katsuyō) adjective 可し (beshi) to modern -i adjective.

Usage notes
[edit]As an adjective, it can be considered to only be used in place of Standard Japanese 終止形 (shūshikei, “terminal form”) べし (beshi) and 連体形 (rentaikei, “attributive form”) べき (beki), as all other inflected forms are identical.
