Etymology

Compound of (su, purely, just, only) +‎ 泊まり (tomari, staying over, spending the night, overnight lodging, the 連用形 (ren'yōkei, stem or continuative form) of verb 泊まる tomaru, “to stay overnight”).[1][2] The tomari changes to domari as an instance of rendaku (連濁).
