Sino-Korean word from (fault), from the Middle Korean reading 죄〯 (Yale: cwǒy).

  • Phonetic hangul: [(ː)/(ː)]
    • Though still prescribed in Standard Korean, most speakers in both Koreas no longer distinguish vowel length.
