From Middle Korean ᄎᆞ〮례 (Yale: chólyèy, “order; sequence”) which appears from the 15th century. ᄎᆞ〮례 (Yale: chólyèy) was originally ᄎᆞ뎨 (Yale: chotyey) (modern reading: 차제 (chaje)), a
