Etymology

From Proto-Indo-European *nรฉwos (โ€œnewโ€). Cognates include Latin novus, Mycenaean Greek ๐€š๐€บ (ne-wo), Sanskrit เคจเคต (nรกva) and Old English nฤซwe (English new).
