Usage notes[edit]

  • (distributive suffix) It is used only with temporal expressions. Variants:
    -onta is added to some back vowel words ending in a consonant
    nap ‎(day) → naponta ‎(daily)
    -anta is added to some back vowel words ending in a consonant
    nyár ‎(summer) → nyaranta ‎(every summer)
    -ente is added to unrounded front vowel words ending in a consonant
    év ‎(year) → évente ‎(yearly)
    -önte is added to rounded front vowel words ending in a consonant
    ősz ‎(autumn) → őszönte ‎(every autumn)
