  1. (verbal suffix) Added to nouns to create intransitive verbs to express that someone behaves or acts like the base noun. The verbs often have a pejorative meaning.
    főnök (boss)főnökösködik (to be bossy, to behave like a boss; to work as a boss)

Usage notes[edit]

  • Harmonic variants:
    -skodik is added to back vowel words
    -skedik is added to unrounded front vowel words
    -sködik is added to rounded front vowel words
